How the Score Is Calculated

The score reflects ovulation timing, contraception effectiveness, and symptoms. Higher scores suggest greater likelihood but do not confirm pregnancy.

Score Ranges

  • 0–4 pts (Level 1): Very low (under 5%)
  • 5–19 pts (Level 2): Low (5%–15%)
  • 20–34 pts (Level 3): Possible (15%–30%)
  • 35–49 pts (Level 4): Higher (30%–50%)
  • 50–66 pts (Level 5): Very high (50%–66%)

Contraceptive Method Failure Rates

  • Male condom: 18%
  • Female condom: 21%
  • Birth control pill: 9%
  • Withdrawal: 22%
  • IUD: 1%
  • Spermicide/BBT: 28%
  • Rhythm method: 24%
  • Depo-Provera: 6%
  • Tubal ligation: 0.5%

Symptom Weighting

  • Positive urine test: +60%
  • Nausea, fatigue, breast tenderness, abdominal sensations: +20%
  • Appetite changes, weight gain, etc.: +10%
